SSL PROVIDE SEVENTH CONSOLE TO EMPC

EGYPTIAN Media Production City (EMPC) on the outskirts of Cairo have again turned to Oxford-based SSL for the next phase of their project ‘Hollywood on the Nile’.
EMPC have already installed four SL 8032 GB analogue broadcast production consoles, a 64-channel Avant digital film console and a 96-channel Axiom-MT digital multitrack console. This time, the choice is for a further SL 8032 GB console, for installation in the control room attached to a new 9002 m recording studio.
The new room is designed not only to be a focus for regional music, drama and cultural programming, but also to attract high-profile international clients.
According to SSL's Regional Sales Manager Andy Duffield: “As EMPC was conceived as a world-class facility, technical excellence was of paramount importance. Its decision to order a further SSL console for this exceptional project is an endorsement of services we can provide.”
Covering a total area of more than 35 million square metres, EMPC is the largest media and information complex ever to be constructed in this part of the world. In conjunction with the Egyptian satellite, Nile Sat, EMPC will make a major contribution to the country’s technological advance, and help to preserve the region’s strong cultural identity.
The seventh SSL console was ordered though Sony BPE who are leading The Fourth Consortium - the group of companies responsible for the implementation of the project. (AMcE)
