OMG FLOATS ON AIM

OMG, an Oxford based company has floated on the Alternative Investment Market (AIM), valuing itself at £36.7million.
OMG, founded 17 years ago as a management buyout from Oxford Instruments, make software and hardware that enables movie directors, surgeons and engineers to track the three dimensional movement of objects on film.
The company, with Julian Morris as a chief executive who is retaining 35 per cent of the shares and Malcolm Lewis as finance director, also develops software that superimposes artificial objects or virtual characters into real scenes without losing perspective.
The company created the Colosseum scene for the Oscar winning ‘Gladiator’ and OMG’s technology was used to create special effects in the box-office hit film ‘Titanic’.
In the year September 30, 2000 OMG made a pre-tax profit of £1million on turnover of £6.8 million. Trading in the stock begins on April 10. (AMcE)
