BARKER APPOINTED HEAD OF ANIMATION AT MEDIAARC

THE BBC have announced that Carol Barker is to become the new Head of Animation for BBC MediaArc.
Barker’s role will be to develop animation across the new design agency as a strategic capability available to both BBC and external customers.
Building on the special 3D computer generated imaging expertise already held in Bristol, and the Character Animation shop now being created in Birmingham, animation is expected to become a significant growth area for BBC MediaArc in coming years. She will be responsible for developing strategic partnerships with BBC production departments and suppliers both in the UK and overseas.
Barker joined BBC Resources Nations and Regions in 1999 initially with commercial responsibilities for the areas but then additionally taking on the management of Bristol operations and the Post Production and Graphics areas of Birmingham. (CD)
