Skillset announces sponsorship of Berlinale Talent Campus
Skillset is sponsoring the 2005 Berlinale Talent Campus (February 9-20) as part of 'A Bigger Future', the UK film skills strategy.
Together with the UK Film Council, Skillset is staging daily speed networking sessions for the 500 filmmakers taking part in the Campus. Skillset and the UK Film Council will also be providing information on skills development and careers opportunities at their joint stand on the Campus where top professionals will be available throughout the week to offer advice.
Skillset’s Director of Film, Judy Counihan, said: “Nurturing and encouraging new talent, the lifeblood of our long term growth, has to be our priority. Through ‘A Bigger Future, Skillset and the UK Film Council are helping to attract and retain the brightest and the best into film careers to ensure future competitiveness and productivity in the UK. Skillset is delighted to be supporting the next generation of filmmakers through the Berlinale Talent Campus and investing in the future of film.”
Judy Counihan, whose Oscar winning credits include ‘No Mans Land’ and ‘Antonia’s Line’, will be hosting a workshop at the Campus called ‘The Food Chain: from idea to pitch’. The theme of the 2005 Campus is production design and this year’s programme includes workshops with some of the world’s top designers including Stuart Craig and Ken Adams. Directors Stephen Frears and Roland Emmerich will also be speaking.
