Altered Images helps Majestic TV realise vision for Spanish lifestyle channel

Altered Images, the Shepperton-based broadcast systems reseller, recently supplied a large consignment of technology equipment, including cameras, VTRs and associated equipment to Majestic TV.
The equipment will be used in the operation of a new Spanish-based satellite channel Majestic TV, which can be seen on channel 238 on the Sky Digital transponder.
Majestic TV is the first digital channel on Sky that is fully operational from the Costa del Sol. A combination of programmes, all produced in Spain, supply the consumer with a real feel for living in, and possibly relocating to, Spain.
Altered Images' Managing Director David Johnson said: “It’s very exciting to be involved in a new start-up like Majestic TV, to win business at this level and work with companies starting off with a bold vision. Majestic TV were recommended to us by a previous client, which is the best way for it to be.”
The Altered Images team were asked to advise and supply a range of cameras and acquisition peripherals, which would enable Majestic TV to achieve high quality pictures and sound recording. David Johnson explains: “We provided very high quality equipment, selected to give Majestic TV the best possible pictures to enhance the production of the programmes created”
Altered Images worked closely with George Bayer, Majestic TV Managing Director. The equipment installed included Sony Broadcast DVCAM cameras and Hand held DV Camcorders.
David Johnson commented: “The biggest challenge for us was getting the kit out to Spain on time. The pace at which the operation was set up meant that they needed supplies of equipment to be delivered and installed in particular quantities in a very short time scale.”
“Because we are a 24 hour channel, with extremely tight deadlines, it is essential we can rely upon our broadcast equipment suppliers for proficient delivery, service and support - and Altered Images certainly delivered on that score,” said Steve Fishwick, Majestic TV’s Head of Post Production. “With Altered Images we have had the benefit of a huge reservoir of expertise with maximum attention to detail,” added Ed Radford, Majestic TV’s Technical Facilities Manager.
