NEW HEAD OF PRESS AND MARKETING FOR BFI EXHIBITION

ANDY Cole, currently Head of Marketing at the Royal Shakespeare Company, has been appointed Head of Press and Marketing for the British Film Institute’s (bfi) Exhibition with effect from June 2001.
Based at the National Film Theatre’s (NFT)current home on the South Bank, the Head of Press and Marketing for bfi Exhibition is one of the key arts marketing posts in the country. Responsible for eight press and marketing staff with line management of the NFT Box Office, the role includes overseeing all aspects of marketing and press for the NFT, regional touring programmes and festivals such as the Regus London Film Festival, London Lesbian and Gay Film Festival, Crime Scene 2001 and the television festival TV 2001.
Cole said: Coming from the world’s best known theatre company I am now thrilled to be working with one of the foremost brands in British cinema, and am looking forward to building on the inherent strengths at bfi Exhibition. The NFT’s forthcoming 50th Anniversary, the plans for the new bfi Film Centre and the popularity of the Regus London Film Festival makes this a very exciting time to be joining the bfi.”
The Exhibition is responsible for every aspect of the bfi’s involvement with cinema provision. The bfi have plans already underway for a new bfi Film Centre which will be a beacon for film, television and the moving image. It will be located at the heart of the nation’s leading cultural and artistic complex on London’s developing on the South Bank. (CD)
