VI[Z]RT ANNOUNCE NEW UPGRADES AND 3DV PLUG-INS

AMONG vi[z]rt’s announcements at NAB were the introduction of three new products and six software upgrades, including a ZCAM plug-in, for its range of real-time graphics solutions displayed at NAB 2001.
The company, which offer solutions for real-time broadcast graphics, virtual sets, sports applications, claim the industry's only scalable and open product family. Graphics created with vi[z]rt software are suited to a variety of media platforms, including television, interactive television, the Internet, and wireless technologies.
New products announced by vi[z]rt at NAB included the first real-time 3D DVE, a Windows-based graphics content and management system, and character generation software that interfaces with vi[z]rt's full line of products.
Also announced at NAB was the selection by 3DV Systems of vi[z]rt’s vi[z] real-time renderer as the graphics program of choice for use with 3DV’s new ZCAM object video camera. The vi[z] real-time renderer for 3D and 2D graphics and vi[z] virtual studio software will be used in conjunction with specially developed 3DV plug-ins to generate real-time special effects using the ZCAM system.
3DV Systems announced the availability of ZCAM at NAB. A leading developer of object video chipsets, 3DV Systems debuted ZCAM as the first colour studio camera add-on which can extract objects from the scene and separate the foreground and background without a blue-screen.
Designed for use in television studios or on location ZCAM technology enables real-time broadcasts of video enhancements and special effects that could previously only be created during post-production. (SP)
