HTV PLAN GENERAL ELECTION COVERAGE

HTV ARE planning their biggest General Election coverage ever, with televised debates in three key constituencies, an all-Wales eleventh hour studio discussion and exclusive opinion polls to test the voters’ intentions.
Three programmes, ‘Sharp End’, ‘Waterfront’ and ‘HTV News’ will provide the coverage with Mai Davies, Max Perkins and Jo Kiernan as the front-line presenters.
Leading political observers Gareth Hughes and Dr. Simon Brooks will be HTV’s expert analysts for the campaign and the election itself, interpreting poll results and examining voting trends. HTV Political Editor, Max Perkins and Political Correspondent, Joe Kiernan who present ‘Waterfront’ will also be reporting on the campaign in Wales each weeknight on HTV News.
Their reports will be supplemented by live contributions from HTV journalists around Wales.
On election night, HTV will have cameras at every key constituency with news coverage throughout the night and next day.
Nick Powell, Head of HTV Wales’ Political Unit, said: “We’ll be providing our viewers with a fully comprehensive election service - they have no need to look elsewhere. “We have the most respected and feared political TV journalists in Wales, we’re planning some enlightening debates, we’ll have the only TV polls in Wales and we’re planning an immediate and full results service.”
