New equipment further expands digital film operations at MotionFX

MotionFX, the London-based digital film production and video effects/graphics specialist, has dramatically expanded its digital film production and digital intermediate operations with the purchase of a wide range of cutting edge equipment.
The new equipment includes a second Quantel iQ DI system, several Eyeon Digital Fusion vfx workstations, a further two Thomson Viper FilmStream digital cinematography cameras twinned with two additional D.Mag uncompressed field disk recorders from S.two Corp. and a 2K digital screening facility for client-attended viewing, grading and editing sessions.
MotionFX was one of the first companies in the UK to invest in the Quantel iQ system, which the company coupled with a Thomson Viper to provide high quality, fast turnaround digital film capabilities aimed at the independent film production community.
“The iQ and Viper combination has proven to be ideal for scene-to-screen digital film work, and our clients have benefited from the cost effective, streamlined high resolution workflow that we have been able to offer,” said John O’Quigley, MotionFX Director of Operations. “The major expansion that we are undertaking has been driven directly by its success, and will enable us to meet the much-increased demand that we have been experiencing, especially from the independent film sector.”
