Location shooting for 'Isolation' begins in Dublin
‘Isolation’, a new film featuring Irish actor John Lynch, has begun filming on location around Dublin today (November 15).
The Element Films/The Bureau production, also known as ‘The Calf’, is written and directed by Bafta winner Billy O’Brien.
Isolation also features Essie Davis (The Matrix Revolutions, Girl With A Pearl Earring), Sean Harris (Trauma), Ruth Negga (Breakfast On Pluto) and Marcel Iures (Layer Cake) among its cast. Set on a rural Irish farm over a cold winters' night, five people are brought together and become caught up in something terrifying which no one could have predicted.
Isolation is produced by Ed Guiney with Ruth Kenley-Letts and Bertrand Faivre. Funding has been secured from Film Four, Irish Film Board (IFB), Lion's Gate, Redbus and TV3.Lions Gate will handle sales for the film, the company’s first Irish production.
The IFB has contributed €750,000 to the project and is “delighted to be involved on such a level”. The IFB’s Moira Horgan said: “This is a very exciting project and the involvement of the prestigious sales agent Lions Gate makes it even more exciting for the Irish Film Board.”
