Enhance Technology expands into video storage market

Enhance Technology, a leading supplier of storage systems to the IT industry, is expanding into the professional audio and video markets with the introduction of the new UltraStor SA product line.
This move signals a formal commitment from the company to support and service a market that they have been informally selling into for the past four years.
Enhance Technology was founded in 1997 by two storage industry veterans, including company President Daniel Tai. The company’s first products were geared exclusively to the information technology market and included removable drive modules manufactured by Enhance for OEM customers.
In 2000, Enhance introduced ProRAID, the first IDE to SCSI RAID system in the United States and the first fully integrated RAID product marketed directly by the company. This early entry in the hybrid storage market has evolved into the UltraStor family of storage products.
The original UltraStor product line capitalised on Enhance Technology’s hybrid storage expertise by combining IDE disk drives with either a SCSI or Fibre Channel host interface. The UltraStor SA utilises newer, faster Serial ATA drives and is powered by the latest micro processor to deliver up to 260MB/s over Ultra320 SCSI or Fibre Channel, enough bandwidth to exceed the demanding requirements of digital video applications. With UltraStor SA, Enhance has created a product that supports multiple simultaneous channels of 1080i HD at either 8 or 10 bits on both the Windows and Mac OS platforms while offering easy configuration and integration into virtually any hardware or software environment.
UltraStor SA has been certified by many leading AV equipment manufacturers, resellers and end-users, who have purchased UltraStor storage systems for their production needs. One company that is impressed with UltraStor SA is Michigan-based Aurora Video Systems, a manufacturer of high-end digital video hardware for the Mac.
