Godman duo direct Heinz sponsorship spots

Heinz Tomato Ketchup began a six-month sponsorship of ITV’s ‘Emmerdale’ on November 3, following the highly successful six-month Heinz Salad Cream sponsorship.
Both campaigns were directed by Godman directing duo ‘Albert’ (Barry Kimber and Andy Poyiadgi)
There are 20 idents – nine 15-second and eleven 10-second films – most of which feature Heinz Top Down Tomato Ketchup, and demonstrate that when it comes to Heinz Tomato Ketchup, ‘You Can’t Eat Without It’.
The 10-second execution ‘Guinea Pig’ opens on a guinea pig eating some lettuce in its hutch. We then cut to see it sucking from a drinking nozzle. The camera moves across to show that the nozzle is attached to a bottle of Heinz Top Down Tomato Ketchup. The slogan ‘You Can’t Eat Without It’ then appears on-screen.
The Directors said: “They say never work with children or animals, so for Heinz we agreed to shoot 20 scripts in four days most of which involved children and animals. It was a real challenge working on such a range of scripts. One minute you're thinking about an old guy being trapped in a spider's web and the next you're figuring out the best way to dip a maggot in some ketchup. You find yourself solving the strangest problems, like getting 20 hawks to chase after someone, or getting a fly to land on a venus flytrap. Thankfully we had a great team and they offered up some great solutions. Particularly when a couple of ducks escaped and everyone had to play professional duck wrangler.”
