CAMBRIDGE ANIMATION SYSTEMS INTRODUCE ANIMO 4

CAMBRIDGE Animation Systems have introduced Animo 4.0 with Macromedia Flash output, new features and improved performance.
Cambridge’s implementation of Flash output allows users to take advantage of the full power of Animo’s scene graph, exposure sheet, drawing window, filters and effects to create high-quality animations. Special controls such as disabling filter nodes and disabling animation of any bitmap image will be available to reduce the sizes of Flash files for the low bandwidth of the Internet.
Users of Animo 4.0’s Flash output will have independent control of ink lines and painted regions, as well as control over the colour, width and generation of ink lines.
Animo 4.0 also optimises Flash files so that playback can begin as soon as possible. Other Flash programs make users wait until the entire file is downloaded before playback.
Simon Ruffles, Cambridge’s Marketing Manager, said: “There’s a high demand for Flash output that does not compromise the quality of the original animation. This implementation will give producers the freedom to leverage their Animo work for presentation over the Internet.”
The Animo cartoon animation system has an installed base of 3,000 seats in more than 50 countries worldwide. (CD)
