DATE ANNOUNCED FOR CAMBRIDGE CONVENTION

THIS YEAR’S Cambridge Convention 2001, ‘Thinking Global, Acting Global, the challenges to the UK industry’, is to be held at King’s College, Cambridge on September 13 to the 15, and is to be Chaired by BSkyB Chief Executive Tony Ball.
The Convention will examine the business side of the industry. The three-day programme of speeches, panel discussions and debates has been designed to address the commercial issues facing media companies in an increasingly competitive global market. There will be important contributions from some of the world’s most influential media players, as well as a speech from a minister, setting out the Government’s view.
Leading television executives from the public and private sectors will debate how well the UK industry is faring in the face of international competition, and discuss the steps that should be taken to allow Britain to win on the world stage.
