Skillset organise third runners' careers day
The Runners Careers Information Event 2003, organised by Skillset and funded by the London Development Agency, is to be held in Kensington Town Hall on Friday April 11 2003 from 10.30am - 5.15pm.
The aim of the event is to give runners a helping hand at the start of their careers, which is often a difficult time. On each day participants will be able to get free careers information and advice and take part in a variety of workshops. These workshops will be run by industry people who work in a variety of areas, including award winning feature films, soaps, documentaries, real-life programming, commercials radio and animation. Many of the speakers started their careers as runners so can share their very relevant experiences and suggestions.
Workshops planned so far include working in features, postproduction, the independent sector, animation, broadcasting and radio.
The event is supported by BBC, BECTU, Carlton, LWT, PACT, Channel 4, five, and the Production Guild.
The event is free for runners living or working in the London-based area.
