London Film Festival nomination success for BBC Films

Pawel Pawlikowski's hot new film ‘My Summer Of Love’, fresh from a triumphant Toronto showing and a substantial US distribution deal, will headline BBC Films' presence at the upcoming Times BFI 48th London Film Festival.
Other BBC Films co-productions lined up for London include the World Premiere of Saul Dibb's much anticipated debut feature ‘Bullet Boy’ starring Ashley Walters, a provocative and powerful look at gun crime in inner-city London, and Danny Boyle's ‘Millions’, a quirky comic tale of two young lads who stumble upon the haul from a bank robbery.
Currently in production are Stephen Frears' new film, ‘Mrs. Henderson Presents’, the true life story of eccentric Windmill Theatre founder Laura Henderson, starring Judi Dench and Bob Hoskins, and produced by Norma Heyman, David Aukin and Bob Hoskins - and Debbie Isitt's sharp comedy ‘Confetti’, starring among others Martin Freeman, Jessica Stevenson, Felicity Montagu, Jimmy Carr and Alison Steadman, which takes a look at the wild world of the wedding industry.
Among an impressive crop of projects in postproduction are Michael Caton-Jones' intense drama ‘Shooting Dogs’, starring John Hurt and Hugh Dancy, set against the Rwandan genocide; Dominic Savage's ‘Northern Souls’, Pearse Elliot's ‘The Mighty Celt’ starring Gillian Anderson and Robert Carlyle, and ‘Match Point’, Woody Allen's first ever film shot in the UK, starring Scarlett Johannsen, Emily Mortimer, Jonathan Rhys Meyers and Brian Cox.
Tom Hooper's ‘Red Dust’ had a rousing response at its Toronto World Premiere, and was snapped up by international distributors. A tense courtroom drama set against the Truth and Reconciliation hearings in South Africa, the film stars Oscar winner Hilary Swank and rising British star Chiwetel Ejiofor.
Current and impending UK releases for BBC Films' projects include ‘The Life And Death Of Peter Seller’s (Icon/October1), ‘My Summer Of Love’ (Content/October 22) and ‘Millions’ (Pathé/December 3).
"Our three LFF titles illustrate perfectly the scope of our work at BBC Films," said David Thompson, Head of BBC Films. "We are proud of our long-standing involvement with Pawel, having co-financed Pawel's previous success ‘Last Resort’. Saul Dibb and Bullet Boy is another good example of the young film-making talent we aim to unearth and encourage, while Danny Boyle's 'Millions' represents British original film-making at its best."
