CHANNEL 4 LAUNCH ANIMATED COMEDY LAB

CHANNEL 4 are drawing on the success of their entertainment strand 'Comedy Lab' by launching a Lab specifically for animation.
They are looking for ideas which feature strong writing talent and innovative design. They could be one-off pieces, but more likely they will be ideas that have the scope to grow into a series.
The key is comedy and originality: broken comedy as well as traditional sitcom formats will be considered. Think big and bold, they want ideas with impact that will capture an audience. They should be pitched at a core audience of 16-34 year olds, but bear in mind that younger viewers 11-16 year olds are a force to be reckoned with on Channel 4 and E4 also.
The length of the programmes should be 11 minutes, but if you are using new, cheaper technologies the target price of £60k may enable you to produce a full TV half-hour (23'45").
The deadline for submissions is August 10 2001.
