Pro-Bel integrates Pixel Power clarity with Morpheus automation

Pixel Power and Pro-Bel have announced the expansion of the Morpheus partner programme by offering full support for the Pixel Power Clarity range of graphics technologies within the revolutionary automation system.
Morpheus represents an evolution of the Pro-Bel automation philosophy, providing a scalable, cost effective automation solution using 'best of breed' technologies and a design that supports fault resilience at every level. The Morpheus architecture supports non-linear playout of not only conventional material, but a wide range of multi-media and data-based content. At the core of Morpheus is the MediaBall concept, allowing even the most complex sequences of events to be packaged in a way that provides simple presentation to an operator and easy manipulation within a schedule.
Traditionally, automation systems have only driven graphics generators in terms of simple memory recalls of whole effects or whole pages of predetermined graphics, therefore the operator was reliant on pre-authored graphics content. Through tight integration of Morpheus' device control and Clarity's API, complex on screen graphics can be created by scheduling individual elements as a series of automation events, or complete sequences can be packaged as MediaBalls. This represents a massive advance in terms of flexibility and allows a far more pro-active graphics approach to be taken at the automation level.
"For some time automation systems have been unable to exploit the full capabilities of some modern devices that encompass multiple functions. Morpheus comprehensively addresses this challenge as is clearly demonstrated by the work we have done with Pixel Power," explained Neil Maycock, Chief Technical Officer with Pro-Bel.
Pixel Power's Clarity is a family of powerful, multi-format, single and multi-channel graphics systems addressing the character generation, still/clip store and animated graphics requirements of television broadcasters and post-production. Offered in combinations of standard and high definition formats, there are even Clarity models that can simulcast both standard and high definition from a single system.
James Gilbert, Commercial Director of Pixel Power Ltd., said: "I am delighted that Pixel Power and Pro-Bel have been able to achieve such powerful integration between Clarity and Morpheus. We have a number of existing customers and new opportunities that can take advantage of this close integration."
