Broadcast Electronics Launches The IXplus

Broadcast Electronics has launched the IXplus, the company's newest HD Radio solution.

IXplus is a powerful software-based solution that provides the most cost-effective and simplest pathway to HDRadio. BE has combined Exporter and Importer functions into a single software platform operating on an enterprise class 1 RU server that allows the user configuration to best match their station architecture, programming, and technical requirements. IXplus will be on display for the first time at the 2025 NAB Show(April 5-9, Las Vegas Convention Centre) BE will exhibit at Booth W3301.

The BE IXplus is scalable ranging from a simple all-in-one software solution to a distributed component approach all user configurable to operate as a combined Importer and Exporter or simply as a standalone Importer or standalone Exporter. IXplus connects, manages, and multiplexes all HD Radio Advanced Applications Services in a simple-to-use consolidated interface, including HD2, HD3, HD4... supplemental audio channels into the HD Radio data payload that is combined with the HD1 main program services and sent to the Exgen interface in the HD Radio enabled FM exciter for broadcast.

IXplus opens the door for broadcasters to embrace new revenue streams with additional data services and multiple audio programs. Coupled with BE’s TREplus cloud-based metadata management tools, broadcasters can streamline HD Radio PAD (program-associated data), album art, station logos news, traffic,weather and other text and visual content to engage listeners and create new revenue streams.

The new IXplus has seamless integration with multiple software-based audio processing options such as BreakawayOne to simplify and streamline your HD Radio operations and eliminate costly hardware boxes. In addition,IXplus can be paired with the Broadcast Electronics world-class AudioVAULT 11 media management and automation platform to quickly launch new channels and popup formats using our pay-as-you-go plan matching operating costs with new revenue.
