StreamGuys Prepares A New Version Of IsMyStreamUp

StreamGuys has prepared a new version of IsMyStreamUp that effectively aligns its rock-solid silence detection formula with a modernised interface and hierarchical alerting system that elevates the user experience.
The result is a seamless continuation of the CDN-neutral service's core 'up/down' functionality fortified through a complete design overall with improved navigational tools, smarter notifications, and an adaptable architecture for future problem-solving needs. StreamGuys will preview its second-generation release of the service at NAB Show 2025 (Booth W1743), with an official launch by end of April.
IsMyStreamUp is a fully automated, cloud-based audio service that lets users of any content delivery network or streaming platform monitor the status of their live internet streams, media player assets, on-demand files (including podcasts), websites, and live production workflows. Broadcasters have relied on its automated detection and alerting performance since 2016 to ensure seamless stream continuity, protecting both brand reputation and advertising revenue from the perils of dead air.
Upon its introduction, StreamGuys not only created a service that brought unusual simplicity and assurance to protecting revenue and reputation – it did so without requiring users to be an existing StreamGuys customer. The ability to use this kind of service independently was groundbreaking at the time, and remains a rarity in the CDN world.
"We developed IsMyStreamUp to offer reliable silence detection and performance monitoring for all at a time when broadcasters were aggressively building out their online and mobile strategies," said Eduardo Martinez, Vice President of Technology, StreamGuys. "Nearly ten years later, it’s more important than ever considering that broadcast networks and content producers continue to populate their online services with an increasing number of streams, including side channels, rebroadcasts and podcasts."
StreamGuys has now rebuilt the platform from the ground up with a ‘rip and replace’ approach that helps new and existing users cover more ground in a highly efficient manner. That includes a more intelligent approach to alerting engineers when streams go silent.
"We have modernised both the interface and backend to make it more powerful, modular, and intuitive. We've revamped the filtering capabilities within the user interface, so customers with a large number of alerts can get to their more important items faster," said Martinez. "The notifications on the initial login have been condensed to focus on the alerts that need immediate attention. By prioritising the most urgent notifications, we are ensuring faster response times."
IMSU 2.0 is also more adaptable for the future in large part through a containerised backend that enhances flexibility. “The backend design is a complete transformation as it makes the service adaptable for future expansions for the first time,” said Martinez. “That includes support for new streaming protocols that will both extend audio monitoring capabilities and open opportunities for video streaming monitoring.”
StreamGuys will offer technical previews and demonstrations of IMSU 2.0 at NAB Show 2025, exhibiting at the ENCO booth (W1743) in the West Hall of the Las Vegas Convention Center from April 6-9, 2025.
