OOONA Partners With Voiseed

OOONA has partnered with Voiseed to launch a groundbreaking new course entitled 'Introduction to AI Speech Editing'.

The course addresses the growing demand for skilled professionals who can work with synthetic voices in AI-powered dubbing workflows. It will be hosted on the OOONA EDU platform.

A Milan-based AI startup, Voiseed specialises in creating multilingual expressive voice content to support the localisation of any type of video. Co-founded by Andrea Ballista, a veteran in the audio localisation field, the company has developed patented speech synthesis technology called xpressive. The latter enhances synthetic voice generation with eight core emotions. These ensure that every line of dialogue feels authentic and culturally resonant. xpressive forms the backbone of Voiseed's Revoiceit platform – a virtual studio designed to streamline workflows for synthetic voice editing.

Through this partnership, OOONA's EDU platform will host a self-paced, interactive course designed to provide localisation professionals with a solid foundation in digital audio fundamentals. Participants will gain the knowledge they need to evaluate AI-generated audio for technical and linguistic accuracy. They will also learn editing techniques for prosody, phonemisation, pronunciation and reading pace. This will allow them to develop the skills needed to step into the rapidly growing role of AI speech editors in new AI-driven dubbing workflows.

"There is an urgency to leverage technology to improve the efficiency of the content creation process so as to succeed in increasingly competitive international markets," says Andrea Ballista, Voiseed co-founder and CEO. "The current state of the art in synthetic speech can now support emotion detection and transfer but localisation professionals remain essential to ensure a high-quality result is achieved. Our goal with this course is to empower professionals to familiarise themselves with new AI technologies and master the skills needed to integrate them in their workflows.”

"We are very pleased to introduce a course on synthetic speech editing to our EDU platform," added Wayne Garb, OOONA co-founder and CEO. "There is a significant skills gap in the localisation market for professionals proficient in handling synthetic voices effectively that we hope to address. This course reflects our commitment to leading innovation in the media localisation field and helping the market grow."
