Channel Dynamics introduce TviX multimedia jukebox
Channel Dynamics, the specialist distributor of PC and Mac enhancement products, has just introduced a new product that can play DivX movies or mp3 files and display digital pictures on a television without being connected to a computer.
TviX, a new multimedia jukebox from Dvico, is available now from Channel Dynamics. Equipped with a choice of huge 160Gbytes or 250GBytes hard disk storage space, users can transfer literally thousands of files from a PC that can then be played anywhere. TViX plays all current DivX and audio formats, including Xvid, MPEG1, 2 or 4, MP3, AC3 and Ogg Vorbis files as well as JPEG images. It is also firmware upgradeable to provide support for future video formats.
TViX supports 5.1 channel surround sound with optical and coaxial Digital as well as stereo analogue sound outputs. Video outputs include composite, S-Video and SCART, with support for both NTSC and Pal formats, allowing direct connection to the majority of television systems. The infra red connected remote control supplied provides a range of sophisticated functions, including fast forward, reverse, fast play speeds, video aspect ratio and image scaling as well as multilingual subtitle support from a number of standard formats. The system provides parental control using password protected directories and a video library function, providing browsing with thumb nails.
Files are transferred to the unit from the users PC via the latest USB 2.0 interface, delivering fast transfer rates of up to 480MB/sec. The onboard hard disk can be formatted or partitioned to suit the user’s requirements. A model with an alternative 400MB/s Firewire IEEE1394a interface will also be available.
The TViX can be used anywhere an AC mains supply is available, its built in power supply operating from any supply of AC90-250V, 50-60Hz.
