Freeview to launch free-to-play gaming channel

Freeview are reportedly to launch a new gaming channel that will not be charging users to play, a unique position in the market.
Free2Play, the new gaming channel to be run by the interactive TV company YooMedia, propose to make money through charging sponsors to feature on games and by encouraging users to register their high scores using premium rate phone lines.
Pay-per-play gaming channels are already a lucrative feature on Sky Digital's platform.
