TWO WAY TV PLAY NEW ONDIGITAL CHANNEL

ONDIGITAL are to add a new Two Way TV channel of interactive games and entertainment to their service from January 2001.
An all-new, Two Way TV games channel will replace the current ONgames One service with a live schedule of interactive games and quizzes based on television shows.
Matthew Tims, Managing Director of Two Way TV, said: “Games are an extremely popular choice in multi-channel households and ONdigital gives us immediate coverage across the UK. ONdigital viewers also see television as something that offers more than just programmes but email and internet as well. It’s a brilliant match and they are going to lap up our games.”
The Two Way TV schedule on ONdigital will comprise of a selection of their most popular puzzles and quiz games as well as those created from the BBC’s A Question Of Sport, Mastermind, Antiques Roadshow, Channel 4’s Crystal Maze and ITV’s Comedy Awards.
Players will be able to compete against other homes on the ONdigital network and will pay to play prize games, between 50p and £2 a time. Revenues will be split between Two Way TV and ONdigital.
The agreement is for five years and will utilise Mediahighway ‘middleware’, the interactive system inside the ONdigital set-top-box.
The Two Way TV channel is already running on NTL and Telewest’s digital cable networks.
