SOFTIMAGE TO PROVIDE SUPPORT FOR PANORAM

Softimage, a subsidiary of Avid Technology, have announced that they intend to provide support for Panoram Technologies PV series, triple panel, flat-screen display systems.
The combination of the Softimage|XSI Virtual Layout architecture, and the immersive aspects of Panoram PV liquid crystal display technology, creates a clean, high-performance panoramic experience for modelling, animation and render visualisation.
The Virtual Layout engine option within Softimage|XSI 2.0 software features a multi-platform, extensible, high performance architecture. With total control, the Virtual Layout option enables the operator to re-shape the Softimage|XSI User Interface and customise for specific tasks when required.
In conjunction with Panoram, Softimage’s Virtual Layout tools re-shape the animator experience. With the ability to display the tools normally hidden by the limitations of a single display, the artist requires less menu surfing to find the tools they need. Less time searching and more time creating adds value to the animation experience.
