Major celebration of cinema in Wales
With events taking place in 40 venues throughout Wales, audiences are expected to exceed last year’s Wales Cinema Day turn out to prove that Wales loves cinema.
People from Holyhead to Newport, and Wrexham to Haverfordwest will be able to attend special events held in their area, to include preview screenings of not one but three big films due for general release later in the year.
Among the highlights of the day on January 27 will be at UGC Newport which is to host Welsh Charity Premiere of 'The Wild Thornberrys' movie, in the presence of the Welsh Minister for Culture, Jenny Randerson.
Hosted by Sgrîn, United International Pictures and UGC Cinemas, all proceeds from the evening will be donated to the WWF. The film will not be released in the UK until February 7, and thanks to UIP, Welsh cinemas will be screening the film exclusively to celebrate Wales Cinema Day.
