'IMAGINABLE!' - CINEMA DAY FOR WALES
THE DEVELOPMENT Centre for the Creative and Performing Arts at the University of Wales, Bangor have announced they will be celebrating Cinema Day in January 2001, with 'Imaginable!', thanks to the support of Sgrin, the Media Agency for Wales.
Director of the Development Centre for the Creative and Performing Arts, Dr Graeme Harper, said: “We have a wonderful and important opportunity here, to show those who want to make films how it is now possible to do so without huge amounts of money and vast resources. Now is an incredibly exciting time in filmmaking and the more people in the UK who can creatively participate and appreciate film the stronger the British film industry is going to become. I really look forward to welcoming new and young filmmakers to Imaginable!”
Imaginable! Will include master classes by filmmakers who are using new technologies to get their films made and distributed, discussions on video streaming and digital film research, a film festival featuring short films made on DV edited and distributed digitally, and talks by new digital filmmakers.
