New UK high-end exhibition announced

VCM, the company behind the popular UK event Video Forum, has announced the launch of Broadcasting Technology 2005, a new exhibition for the UK aimed at high-end broadcast and production professionals.
Keiron Seth of VCM said: “The UK is a world centre for media production. It is home to an industry facing the huge task of the digital switchover, the emergence of HDTV, and the rapid development of AV-IT, yet there is no specialist UK event purely dedicated to engineering technology or the design and installation of video systems for the television and post industry.
“Existing events have some appeal to the technical market, but none is dedicated to the requirements of the engineers in television and post.”
The organisers of Broadcasting Technology 2005 aim to meet the broadcast industry’s needs. Dedicated to engineering solutions for television and post, the exhibition will bring together an audience of technical analysts and consultants, engineers, heads of operations and systems developers. To be marketed across the industry's main titles, print and online, Broadcasting Technology 2005 will be exclusive to those companies that service this particular area - it will be 100% engineering.
Well-known faces from throughout the industry have come forward to express their support for the new exhibition.
Steve Nunney, Managing Director of Hamlet Video International, said: “The broadcast industry is traditionally poorly served by UK exhibitions. Although IBC in Amsterdam is a well-established and important show, many visitors cannot - or will not - make the effort to travel to it.
“This well-placed, well-timed broadcast hardware/software show, with its relevant seminars, marks an important turning point for the industry and provides a dedicated focal point for high-end broadcast manufacturers and users. A good cross section of manufacturers will benefit from this new development."
Tony Drummond-Murray, Managing Director of Murraypro, added: “The UK desperately needs this show!”
Broadcasting Technology 2005 will run from January 25-27 2005 at Earls Court, alongside Video Forum 2005.
