Canon UK & Ireland has underlined its commitment to emerging independent filmmakers by kicking off its support to the Raindance Film Festival.

Celebrating its 31st festival this year, Raindance will be showing a world-renowned programme of the best of British and international independent films, in London's West End film district.

Canon's cinema cameras and lenses continue to be adopted by the film industry for their high quality and reliable design. As part of the Festival event, Canon host a dedicated Cinematography day on the 31st October, where the audience will be invited to participate in a session with technical experts to learn about the latest cutting-edge features of cinema cameras, as well as key practical features that can be put into practice on any shoot.

To inspire the next generation of creative talent, Canon will host two inspirational talks at Wonderville, London. Canon Ambassador Tania Freimuth will share her passion for cinematography and her latest work, which stream across Amazon Prime, iPlayer and Sky.

There will also be a conversation and Q&A with renowned DOP Korsshan Schlauer, who’s work spans across film, TV, commercial and music performance. During this session Korsshan will share his experiences as a filmmaker and discuss his latest short film that features as part of the programme.
