Magic of 'Harry Potter' conjures up £65000 for children's charity

‘Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban' cast member Chris Rankin (Percy Weasley) and celebrity fans including Linda Barker, Jack Ellis (Bad Girls) and Sharron Davies attended a special charity screening of 'Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban' recently and raised £65000 for NCH, the children's charity.
The screening, held at the Odeon cinema in London's Leicester Square, saw fans come together to view the third big screen instalment of JK Rowling's popular 'Harry Potter' novels. Tickets were sold in aid of NCH's work with over 140,000 children, young people and families across the UK, with Chris Rankin and Lynda Till, vice-president of NCH, introducing the film and the charity.
Prior to the screening, guests were invited to a party with face painting and performances by NCH Vice President Fay Presto and her team of magicians. Guests were also able to grab an autograph or photograph with Chris Rankin and the other celebrities present.
Stuart Graham of NCH, said: “NCH are absolutely delighted to have raised such a fantastic amount from our special screening of 'Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban'. The film industry's continued support of NCH is vital in ensuring we can continue to help thousands of children and young people across the UK.”
The NCH screening was made possible thanks to the support of Mark Butler Associates, Odeon Cinemas and Warner Brothers.
