US Producer Hosts Theresa Sareo Screening

Movie producer Evan Ginzburg will be special guest at the screening of his film Theresa Sareo: Alive Again showing at Edge Hill University’s Arts Centre.
The educator, editor, radio show host and talent agent will be at the campus on 18th February to take an audience behind the scenes of the making of the inspirational story of singer/songwriter Theresa Sareo, whose life was forever changed when an accident caused the loss of her right leg.
Evan, best known for his work as associate producer on The Wrestler featuring movie star and Academy Award nominee Mickey Rourke, co-produced this latest documentary film following Theresa’s physical and emotional rehabilitation, return to singing, and her support of trauma victims and wounded military worldwide.
He will introduce the screening and will also read from his book, Apartment 4B, Like in Brooklyn, an autobiographical collection of short stories about growing up in East Flatbush, Brooklyn, in the 1960s and 1970s. He will also host a question and answer session about his work.
Evan said: "Theresa Sareo is a true survivor and an inspiration to all and I was proud to document her harrowing tale. I am currently producing and directing The Stage is an Altar, which is about the New York City music scene and is another great project to work on."
Professor Mark Schofield, Dean of Teaching and Learning Development arranged the visit. He said: "I'm delighted that Evan has agreed to come for the screening of this phenomenal piece of work that takes a courageous story and creates a documentary that shows that each of us can make a difference. Evan has a fascinating career history and I’m sure he will motivate and inspire our students during his visit."
Evan has been involved in the professional wrestling scene for close to twenty years. His new documentary Wrestling Then And Now -The Movie is based on his popular newsletter, which is distributed globally and spans beyond wrestling.
He is also the host of Legends Radio with Dr Mike Lano, acclaimed pro-wrestling writer who has been featured on the Opie and Anthony radio show and was the interviewer on MTV's show Wrestling Society X.
Theresa Sareo: Alive Again will be screened on 18th February, 7pm in the Studio Theatre at the Arts Centre. It’s free admission but tickets should be booked in advance by calling 01695 584480.
