Harris to show full product range at Broadcast Asia

Harris Corporation will demonstrate its full range of broadcasting solutions at the upcoming Broadcast Asia 2002 exhibition to be held from June 17 to 22 in Singapore.
The Harris Broadcast Communications Division provides complete delivery solutions, from radio studios and television transmission automation, to digital and analogue transmitter systems and digital cable headends.
Being displayed for the first time at Broadcast Asia are a number of digital television products including SPOT, the intelligent DVB-T repeater that maintains premium digital quality in gap-filling and local broadcasting applications; and the V-SFN module which synchronises a number of transmitters on a single frequency. The creation of a single frequency network is vital both for bandwidth efficiency and for mobile applications such as the Singapore bus DVB-T system. Harris DVB-T transmitters also will be on display.
For cable broadcasters making the move to digital networks, the BS8000 modular headend system, with its innovative and simple management system, will be demonstrated. The BS8000 will be integrated with HarrisĀ¹s industry leading Flexicoder, demonstrating its flexibility with encoding systems.
IBOC (In-Band On-Channel) is the new hybrid radio system which allows digital radio to be introduced on the same channel as an existing AM or FM analogue service. The Harris DEXSTAR IBOC exciter will make its Asian debut at Broadcast Asia alongside established Harris DAB digital radio transmitters and headends.
Broadcast Asia will see the regional launch of Invenio, a fully integrated media asset management system from Harris Automation Solutions Division. Visitors will also have the opportunity to see and experience a multi-channel automation system.
For radio studios Harris is launching the Legacy digital audio console, designed to maximise quality and minimise the operator's learning curve during the transition to digital. There also will be a display of the new range of custom furniture including powered desks which was launched at NAB2002.
The Harris booth will include a display of AudioLink modules from Intraplex Products, which allow comprehensive contribution, distribution, and allow communications networks to be established while minimising the bandwidth required.
Harris offers a full range of solutions that support the digital delivery, automation and management of audio, video and data. Harris serves broadcasters in more than 125 countries.
Harris Corporation, which also provides microwave, network support, tactical radio, and government communications systems and products, has sales and service facilities in more than 90 countries.
