News Image
GatesAir has appointed two long standing company executive leaders to the C-level leadership board effective immediately.

Joe Mack, GatesAir's Chief Revenue Officer, will extend his duties to Deputy CEO, working closely with new GatesAir CEO Barbara Spicek to support global business operations. Jeff Hills, previously VP of Finance, has been promoted to Chief Financial Officer (CFO).

Mack has been with the company for 42 years, taking on roles of increasing responsibility over his tenure. He became Vice President of Sales, Americas upon the rebranding of Harris Broadcast’s transmission business as GatesAir in 2014, and was elevated to Chief Revenue Officer (CRO) in 2020 which he will retain along with his Deputy CEO duties. Mack has a proven track record of overdelivering on revenue, leading worldwide sales teams and displaying client relationships and commitments at the highest level.

Hills joined the company in 1993 and has held several senior finance positions for both GatesAir and Harris Broadcast over his tenure. Hills has been a key consultant through the Thomson Broadcast acquisition process and will lead the company’s finance, HR and IT departments. Hills is responsible for planning, implementing, managing and controlling all financial activities for GatesAir, which includes accounting, treasury, budgeting, forecasting and strategic planning.

"Coming into GatesAir, I was immediately impressed by the experience and expertise that Joe and Jeff bring to the company and its culture," said Spicek. "Joe is widely respected throughout the broadcast community, and his reputation as an advocate for GatesAir and its customers will bring tremendous value to company operations worldwide. Jeff's business acumen and immersion into GatesAir’s finance operations over many years will be impactful and critical to our growth projections for the coming years as we build out our global presence and brand."

"Joe and Jeff bring proven leadership skills to their new roles made stronger through their combined seven decades of company experience," said Aby Alexander, President – USA, Thomson Broadcast. "Joe has been the recognized face of GatesAir to major US broadcast networks for many years, and his understanding of the global broadcast industry benefits the company, our customers and our partners worldwide. Jeff’s experience with coordinating complex financial activities for GatesAir communicates a message of robust business stability. As one of her first orders of business, Barbara’s promotion of Joe and Jeff will bring remarkable value as she implements her vision for GatesAir’s future."
