Alchemy Mastering purchases DK-Audio meters

Following its move to the 29th floor of London’s Centre Point, audio post production specialist Alchemy Mastering has announced that it has bought four DK-Audio MSD600M++ meters to monitor stereo and surround sound projects.
The meters are enhanced versions of DK-Audio’s popular MSD600M surround meters and were supplied by Total Audio Solutions. They have been installed in Alchemy’s new complex, which includes two sound studios, two mastering rooms and facilities for editing and duplication.
Ray Staff, one of Alchemy’s mastering engineers, says the DK-Audio meters were chosen for their 5.1 capabilities. He said: “We looked at a number of metering options but eventually settled on the DK-Audio units because they are very flexible and also upgradeable which makes them a good long term investment,” he says.
DK-Audio’s MSD600M++ meters incorporate increased processing speed, extra memory and a wealth of other new features. The distinctive Jelly-Fish™ display employed by the meter enables engineers to see at a glance exactly what is happening to the audio signal when they are working in surround.
