Oxford Sound & Media Chooses DK Meters For GCap Media

DK-Technologies (UK) has supplied 11 Master Stereo Display 100 audio meters to systems integration specialists Oxford Sound & Media, which is currently installing the units as part of a technical fit-out contract into a new broadcast and production facility for GCap Media.
Oxford Sound & Media is a UK-based engineering-led company that concentrates on the system design and installation of audio-visual and related control and IT systems for professional users. As an independent company, Oxford Sound & Media chooses the best equipment for each project it handles.
Oxford Sound & Media was commissioned to build the new complex at Maid Marian Way, Nottingham, to accommodate GCap Media's Commercial Production operation, as well as studios for Trent FM and Classic Gold. The station is due to re-locate in January and the new facility will incorporate 18 rooms, including three on-air studios and eight for the production of commercials.
Andrew Riley, director of Oxford Sound & Media, said: "The new studios are equipped with Pro Tools and either Mackie or Yamaha digital mixers that require more sophisticated audio metering, therefore external metering was needed. In conjunction with GCap Media, we came to the conclusion that the MSD100 was the
ideal solution because it offered a full range of features and also fitted neatly into the furniture design. Our relationship with DK-Technologies is long standing and we have specified the company's products for a number of projects, including some we have carried out previously for GCap Media."
DK-Technologies MSD100 audio meter provides producers, sound engineers and technicians with an objective visual representation of audio characteristics. It incorporates all basic metering and monitoring functions such as phase meter, audio vector oscilloscope and level meter, plus pre-set selectable reference levels.
Tim Lowther, project manager for GCap Media, adds: "We specified the MSD100 audio meter because we wanted a unit that moved us a step on from analogue metering. These units look very smart and combine a host of metering options in one box. They are also are incredibly easy to use."
