THOMSON MULTIMEDIA ANNOUNCE TWO APPOINTMENTS

THOMSON multimedia Broadcast & Network Solutions, a division of Thomson multimedia focused on business-to-business solutions for broadcasters, content providers, network operators and advertisers, have announced two significant appointments.
David Phillips is appointed with immediate effect as Managing Director for the newly combined organisation. He was previously Managing Director of the UK office of Philips Broadcast. Claude Guillaume, formerly Managing Director of Thomson Broadcast (UK), is appointed Deputy Managing Director with direct responsibilities for Sales & Marketing.
Making the announcements, Phillips additionally confirmed the appointment of Phillip Neighbour as Sales Manager together with Nigel Ward and Karen Hendry, respectively Technical Operations Manager and Finance and Administration Controller.
Phillips joined Philips Broadcast as Director of Sales & Service in late 1996 and shortly afterwards was confirmed as Managing Director. During this period he has overseen continuing growth of Philips market share in the UK and the development of leadership positions in film imaging and digital film postproduction. A graduate of the University of Wales, David Phillips has spent his entire professional career within the broadcasting industry, with initial experience of the user’s requirements gained at Granada Television, later entering the manufacturing side of the industry with Panasonic Broadcast prior to joining Philips.
Guillaume, is a well-recognised and highly regarded figure in the UK broadcast world and has worked for Thomson itself for twenty one years, as well as setting up the initial Thomson Broadcast business in the UK in 1988. During this period he has been instrumental in establishing Thomson Broadcast as major and respected contributors within the UK. (CD)
