QuVIS’ selected by China for digital cinema installations
The China Film Group and the Beijing Film Academy have selected QuBit digital disk recorders and QuVIS encoding technology for the deployment of digital cinema in the People’s Republic of China.
The digital cinema servers, part of a three year Chinese initiative to install 100 D-Cinema systems, will debut with the January 24 digital premiere in China of 'Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets' from Warner Bros. The digitally mastered blockbuster movie will be shown on QuBits in six showcase theatres—four in Beijing and two in Shanghai.
The Beijing Film Academy, (BFA) Asia’s largest institution of higher learning for film and television production in Asia, have also purchased QuBit servers for use in the school’s post production suites allowing future film and television producers, directors and cinematographers to train using the QuBit. The school is the premiere cinema school in China and D-Storm, QuVIS’ authorised dealer for QuVIS technology in Asia, sold and installed the systems in BFA and the six theatres.
