TV4 Film goes on air with ATG Broadcast

ATG Broadcast has expanded the playout facilities at TV4 Sweden to enable transmission of a new movie channel, TV4 Film.
The project centred on the expansion by ATG Broadcast of routing and output chain infrastructure installed for TV4 Sport which went on air in January 2003. Additional to TV4 Sport and the network's main channel, TV4 Film will be accessible throughout Scandinavia by a combination of terrestrial and satellite delivery.
TV4 Project Manager, David Osterlund, said: "In 1996, TV4 became one of the world's first broadcasters to implement automated disk-based playout. In 2003, ATG Broadcast commissioned an Omnibus Colossus automation system for the Sport channel and precabled to allow new channels to be added quickly and easily. The Film Channel was installed and commissioned in just four weeks, without any disruption to our ongoing transmissions".
ATG Broadcast Sales Director Alan Pimm added:"TV4's main studio is a showpiece in itself, being open to public view from the reception area at the network's Stockholm headquarters. Our detailed knowledge of Omnibus automation together with careful pre-planning enabled this project to run very smoothly. The new facilities include an additional Eyeheight presTX vision mixer and interfaces, along with expanded routing."
