Mediascape seeks to fill McMillan void in Scotland

Supplying audiovisual equipment and turnkey boardroom/training room solutions from Edinburgh and Glasgow, Mediascape Ltd. was set up recently by four former McMillan employees.
Shona Simpson (Director), Angus Knight (Managing Director), John McGregor (Business Development Manager) and Jim O’Donnell (Senior AV Engineer) were all previously employed by McMillan UK until it went into receivership in November 2003.
The former employees decided to form Mediascape to accommodate the audiovisual equipment needs of the Scottish marketplace.
Also joining the new company as a Director is Chris Montgomery of Sound & Vision AV Ltd., a well established UK AV presentation and conference hire company.
They have also formed a strategic alliance with another former Director of McMillan, Mark Forth, who is now Managing Director of Mitcorp Digital Solutions.
Mitcorp are the UK’s leading Sony Broadcast & Professional equipment distributor and they will be sharing premises and marketing initiatives.
“With these alliances in place we are set to offer the client a ‘one stop shop’ facility from offices in both Glasgow City Centre and Edinburgh South Gyle area,” said Angus Knight.
Mediascape offers sales, design, maintenance and repair of a wide range of audiovisual products, from a simple LCD projector to a complete turnkey package involving design and installation, such as a visitor centre or a fully automated conference facility.
It is already an appointed reseller for many leading brands such as NEC, Sony, Tandberg, Sahara AV, Smart Technologies, Sanyo, AMX and Polycom, and its extensive product portfolio includes plasma screens, LCD projectors, conference systems, videoconferencing, and interactive whiteboards.
Knight continued: “We are delighted to be able to continue to serve the Scottish marketplace and provide a local service to companies who have enjoyed this in previous years. Additionally, our collaboration with Sound & Vision and Mitcorp Ltd. enables us to give our clients sales and hire options while considering a new piece of equipment, all under one roof.”
Mediascape is located next to Sound and Vision at 11 South Gyle Crescent, Edinburgh and Port Dundas Business Park, Glasgow.
