CINEMAGIC CALL FOR JURORS
CINEMAGIC, the World Screen Festival for Young People, which takes place in Belfast and Downpatrick from November 29 to December 9, is currently looking for six enthusiastic young film fans to make up the Cinemagic Jury.
Cinemagic is one of the few competitive festivals in the world whose winners are selected by a jury made up solely of young people. Meembers of the jury get to watch all the films and meet international directors and celebrity guests. Additionally, they get to present the Best Feature and Best Short Film awards on the closing night.
This year's festival includes over 70 screenings from more than 18 countries, and films in competition include: Mad About Mambo, Belfast's very own Strictly Ballroom, Yellow Card, a coming-of-age film from Zimbabwe about a rising football star; and Odd Little Man, which paints a humorous picture of life in 1930’s Norway, against a backdrop of the threatening world war.
If you are aged between 10-16 years, love the cinema and would like to spend 10 fun-filled days at Cinemagic, then write us an imaginative letter or email (maximum 300 words) to tell us why we should choose you to be a member of the 6-strong Cinemagic Jury.
Send your entries by Thursday November 15 to Cinemagic Jury Competition, 3rd Floor, Fountain House, 17-21 Donegall Place, Belfast BT1 5AB or email: [email protected]
If you would to find out more about Cinemagic festival events, telephone the box office on 028-90230606.
