Business growth scheme to aid The Third Man

Plymouth based independent production and facilities company The Third Man has been picked as one of 20 companies in the English regions to benefit from a new Business Growth Opportunity scheme aimed at developing the independent sector.
Managed by Skillset, the Sector Skills Council for the AV industries, and supported by Channel 4, Channel 5, and PACT, the scheme is funded by the Learning and Skills Council London Central and the European Social Fund. The pilot project offers companies expert advice, networking and training opportunities.
John McVay, Chief Executive of PACT, said: "The communications act signals positive changes to the playing field for indies. This scheme is a chance for indies to capitalise on the changing marketplace, helping to position their business to take new opportunities resulting in long term commercial viability."
The Third Man Development Director, Karen Stockdale, said: "This is a fantastic opportunity to develop as a company. Over the next 6 months we'll work with an expert advisor with experience of the sector to lay the foundations for business growth."
Peter Bazalgette, Chairman of Endemol UK, added: "Simply put this scheme is intended to help your bottom line. Take full advantage of it."
