New studio to open in Brighton

The Brighton Film School is to launch a professional studio, to be operated by its students.
The Brighton & Hove Film Studios will allow the film school to provide an interface between its students and film professionals who come to the area, and will offer a stage with an excellent focus dolly, lights and camera equipment, production office with professional software, a fully-fitted location vehicle, equipment hire and production consumables, as well as maintaining a database of local crew and talent.
A professional service will be offered, supervised by professionals and manned by students, who will be able to gain very real hands-on experience.
The move has been welcomed by educational bodies within the film industry, who see the unique opportunity for students, and major film rental companies, who see this development as an opportunity to have local representation through Brighton Film Facilities and at the new Brighton Film Studios.
Specific stage, production office and location facility details together with technical information will be issued when available, along with price structure for professionals with discounts for students.
