SOFTEL ACQUIRE ASTON'S BUSINESS AND ASSETS

CHARACTER generator manufacturers Aston have announced that their business and assets have been acquired by subtitling and interactive television specialists Softel from Pangbourne in Reading.
Softel Managing Director George Berry stated: "Much like Softel, Aston enjoy a unique position in the broadcast sector, with an excellent reputation, a team of skilled and loyal staff, and an extensive international customer base."
Aston’s Sales Director, Peter Munday confirmed: "Aston are delighted to be associated with such a respected player in the broadcast business. Softel have enjoyed a long association with Aston and there is a clear synergy between our products and theirs. It’s a good fit. Customer interest in our new red and blue character generators remains high, and we look forward to a successful future for this new range."
Aston are famous for supplying video character generators and graphics presentation equipment to television broadcasters and production companies throughout Europe and the rest of the world, and have built an enviable reputation over nearly 30 years for quality, reliability and market-leading innovation in their field.
