MOOV ORDER TWO RED CHARACTER GENERATORS

LONDON-based design company Moov, have ordered two Red character generators from Aston.
Both dual channel Reds are to be supplied fully optioned and fitted with the integral VIP clipstore, and will be shipped by the end of this year in time to service key contracts for 2002 .
Moov, who provide a complete broadcast graphics design and operations package, first saw Red at its launch at this year's IBC, and placed the order on Aston Broadcast Systems, following successful operational tests on legacy Aston Ethos page files.
Moov Director, Duncan Foot, said: “We've got many years' live experience with Aston's Ethos character generators - all positive - so when we saw Red we knew it would give us the edge in sports broadcasting. It's easy to use, quick to learn and extremely fast - giving us that vital extra degree of confidence that every operator craves in the live environment.”
In addition to offering backwards compatibility to other systems, Red offers a new level of performance, with faster rendering, bigger animations, and quicker overall operation than the market has seen. Based on a new hardware platform, it exploits Aston's ViVid multi-processor architecture, combining purpose-built VLIW graphics processing power with PowerPC G4 technology. (CD)
