STREAMFACTORY CHOSEN AS BROADBAND ENCODER

PINNACLE Systems, a global leader in broadband video solutions, and Eutelsat, one of the world’s leading provider of global satellite communications services, have announced an agreement in which Pinnacle Systems have been selected to provide broadband encoding for satellite webcasting services by Eutelsat.
In support of a rollout of live and on-demand broadband streaming services within the OPEN-SKY service platform, Eutelsat have already placed orders for 40 StreamFactory systems, with an expansion expected to reach 100 units over the next 12 months. The two companies began deployment this summer.
Until now, Eutelsat had been using media encoders out of capture boards and rack mount PCs. But, with Pinnacle's proven track record and reputation for superior streaming quality, reliability and remote management tools, Eutelsat found the StreamFactory solution to offer compelling advantages on many fronts.
Furthermore, StreamFactory offers the ability to stream up to four independent bit rates in both Windows and Real formats, as well as provisions for audio and video preprocessing with HiQ. StreamFactory is a platform that is flexible, powerful and proven in the industry.
