BRINGING THE BEASTS BACK TO LIFE

COLOSSUS, the multi-channel automation solution from OmniBus Systems, is playing a key role in the BBC’s latest interactive venture, which is accompanying a ground-breaking new series.
“Walking With Beasts” will enable viewers to see now-extinct creatures recreated, as if they existed today, using a blend of natural history filming techniques and advanced computer graphics - and is accompanied by interactive services on all digital platforms. The BBC service will provide those watching the programme on BBC ONE via digital satellite (BSkyB) with a selection of four additional video streams, played out on a continuous loop by the Colossus solution.
Viewers pressing the red button on their remote control keypad can access these streams, all of which provide different types of background information and run in parallel with the programme itself, enhancing each individual's enjoyment of the series.
As soon as the first programme is broadcast on November 15th, viewers will be able to access the streams 24 hours a day until the next episode is broadcast at the same time the following week. The interactive streams will be refreshed then and at the transmission of each subsequent programme.
