HINCKS SLATES INTERACTIVE PROGRAMME MAKERS
GMG Endemol creative director Tim Hincks has criticized interactive programme makers as being too boring.
Speaking at the Guardian Edinburgh International Television Festival, Hincks said: “We should be doing big, bold and weird ideas. We are not talking enough about creative ideas.”
Broadcasters were also slated for not using interactivity at the initial stages of projects instead of using it to enhance programme making at the final stages.
Much of the problem stemmed from the fact that most broadcasters have separate interactive and production departments, which meant that interactivity was bolted onto existing projects at a later stage.
