Cosmos Technology Launches Next-Gen Ecosystem

News Image
Cosmos Technology Broadcast Systems has launched its virtualised next-generation ecosystem for IP channel playout.

The company is working closely with industry pioneers, including Perform, to develop and deliver the tools that broadcasters of all sizes need to succeed in live broadcasting.

Beyond virtualised appliances, the broadcast industry requires a cloud-native solution to solve its current and future technical and commercial challenges. Cosmos' technology is based on the concept of virtual channel playout; it is a totally software-centric solution and is the first of its kind on the market to be developed based on performance requirements. Its processing platform and cloud-native services provide TV operators with simplicity, efficiency and agility.

The Cosmos suite is designed to address the changing face of broadcast. The demand for more agile, intuitive, scalable management systems is growing in response to new commercial opportunities, higher quality display standards, storage challenges and increased overall output all with tightened budgets.

Cosmos' technology is designed to provide a flexible solution, configured to match the specific requirements for each individual the client; whether it is a complete turnkey solution (Cosmos Eclipse), software/cloud only (Cosmos Energy) or condensed entry level (Cosmos Lite).

"Live broadcasting is adopting the shift to IP workflows at an increased rate and Cosmos Technology is ideally placed to drive the change and enable broadcasters of all sizes to benefit from simplistic, efficient and agile virtualised channel playout," said Phillip Neighbour, CEO, Cosmos Technology. "Cosmos' new IP-friendly solutions offer the flexibility, reliability and price point to appeal to anyone from channel pop-ups to established global broadcast networks – whether they want to work entirely in the cloud or with a server-based solution."

The full range of Cosmos solutions will be available for demonstration on Stand 9.LP12 in the Launch Zone at IBC2018.
