Bangla TV Chooses Geevs For A Multi Channel Playout Solution

Two Geevs SDE2 Servers with Auto-Run Client software from Gee Broadcast Systems have just been installed at Bangla TV's new London headquarters.
The Geevs, with their Auto-Run software, will save Bangla TV thousands of pounds a year in third party playout costs. The system provides for ingest of material, compilation of playlists, automated playout with channel bug insertion and external router control. The system also integrates with existing graphics equipment and FCP editing stations to form a cost-effective solution.
Feroze Khan, CEO of Bangla TV, said: "Local support from a UK manufacturer was key in our decision to go with Gee Broadcast."
Bangla TV (Sky - 786 Freeview) serves the Bengali community living in UK and EU and has been broadcasting for the past nine years.
About 700,000 Bengali speaking people are now living in the UK and another 700,000 are living in other EU countries. Before 1999 there was no television channel for Bengali speaking people in this region.
Gee Broadcast, celebrating their 21st year this year, have been manufacturing Geevs servers for over ten years from their headquarters in Basingstoke UK. Over 2,000 Geevs channels have now been supplied world-wide and can be found doing essential tasks in many of the world's leading broadcasters.
