Anthony Mackie To Star In 'Altered Carbon' Series Two
Netflix has renewed sci-fi show 'Altered Carbon' for a second series with new lead Anthony Mackie.
Mr Mackie ('Captain America' series, 'Detroit') will play the role of Takeshi Kovacs, originally played by Joel Kinnaman ('Suicide Squad', 'The Killing') in the first series.
Altered Carbon is based on the novels of Richard K. Morgan, and set in a world where technology allows human consciousness to be transferred from one body to another, as long as the customer can afford it.
Laeta Kalogridis will return as co-showrunner and executive producer, and will be joined by new co-showrunner and executive producer Alison Schapker.
David Ellison, Dana Goldberg and Marcy Ross will executive produce for Skydance, and James Middleton ('Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines', 'Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles') will serve as an executive producer.
Series one of Altered Carbon is available to stream now on Netflix.
